HGH FAQ's

Q: Can human growth hormone affect health conditions?

A: Yes, it can. Click for information about HGH and health conditions.

Q: Is it safe for pregnant women to take HGH products?

A: Pregnant women should not take any type of health product or supplement unless it is specifically prescribed by their doctor.

At this time we are unaware of any clinical studies that show human growth hormone therapy to be safe for use during pregnancy.

Q: What about increasing the risk of cancer?

A: There are various opinions concerning HGH and cancer. I would like to clarify that healthy amounts of the real human growth hormone made by the body is believed to help increase the cancer fighting cells and strengthen the immune system.

Non-injection human growth hormone supplements have not been shown to increase the risk of cancer. I personally look at it this way, when we are young, the HGH made by our pituitary gland is at its highest level, and at that time we are at our lowest risk for cancer.

As we get older our HGH release decreases and our risk for cancer increases.

Q: At what age should HGH therapy begin?

A: Human growth hormone is at its highest during adolescence, it begins to decline in the 20's. There are various opinions concerning the best time to begin anti-aging therapy.

By age 30 the effects of decreasing HGH are usually already beginning to become apparent, and by the mid to late 30's that decrease has usually already brought about noticeable changes.

At age 30 I believe that most can benefit by taking safe supplements. We in anti-aging medicine believe it is better to begin anti-aging therapy at a younger age, when our HGH is already decreasing, but is not yet grossly deficient.

The individual can have his/her blood IGF-1 level checked, and should discuss it with his/her private healthcare provider.

Q: What Exactly is HGH?

A: Human Growth Hormone, (somatotropin, also spelled as somatotrophin) is one of the main hormones of the body. It is responsible for our growth and development when we are children, and once we become adults it is still very important because it helps the adult body to rejuvenate by building new, healthy cells to replace the damaged or old, worn out cells.

When we are children we have plenty, however, once we reach adulthood the pituitary gland's release of growth hormone begins decreasing, and continues to decrease as age progresses.

Research has found that by increasing our human growth hormone to a younger and healthier level we can decrease and reverse many of the effects of aging, improve our fitness, and even improve certain medical conditions.
